Just to update any lingering blog followers, we arrived home at 11am GMT on Saturday 28th having departed from Amy's 25 hours previously. It was 815 miles and we just slept for half an hour and one hour in England. It wasn't all plain sailing though! Having done the 400 miles in France and arrived at the dog check in at Eurotunnel at 9pm we had a bit of an issue. When I was scanned for the microchip in the back of my neck there was no reading. I won't bore you with the finer points but we were told that we could not cross for another 3 weeks! A few hours later, let's just say we overcame the problem and arrived in England at midnight. Bri wanted to get the other side of the M25 before the traffic started getting busy but we just kept going. We tried to get some sleep at some service areas but they all had 2 hour limits so we never got a decent kip (well I did). Funny isn't it, we travel all over europe and park for as long as we want wherever we want and when we get back to our homeland its all rules and regulations stopping us parking! Eventually we arrived at Scotch Corner and treated ourselves to a bacon and a sausage butty, even I got some, yum yum :-p. Just another one and a half hours and we were back in Carlisle, I use that phrase rather than 'home' coz home is the motokennel :-)
TOTAL DISTANCE 5,150 miles
FUEL CONSUMPTION 27 mpg
WINE CONSUMPTION excessive
